Iranian excellence in artistic Khous Douzi

Khous Douzi is a unique art that Iranian craftsmen in Bushehr Province create on scarves or traditional shawls.

The artwork has reportedly gained the World Crafts Council Award of Excellence for Handicrafts with the impressive art decorating textiles.

In this type of handicraft, thin viscose polymer threads are professionally embroidered on scarves and shawls as well as clothes.

In the past, these ribbons were made of gold and silver.

Khous Douzi is one of the traditional and ancient arts of Iran, welcomed by people in the Safavid period. The colors available to tailors are very diverse but golden and silver are the most popular colors.

The designs are in geometric shapes and mostly brick-shaped. The unique artwork has made it to the top list of the Iranian handicraft industry with many specimens created to the taste of women.
